CEVA Logistics consolidates its position in Fashion sector
27 April 2009 - 10:37 CET
Milan, Italy, 27 April 2009 - CEVA Logistics, one of the world's leading supply chain companies, has renewed its contract with ALTO SPA., the official dealer for Mizuno in Italy. The contract includes the management of inbound activities of finished products originating in Belgium. CEVA will also manage the warehousing and distribution, with an express delivery service, of all clothing and shoes destined to the Italian market.
CEVA will reserve for Mizuno, a leading company in the sports clothing and footwear sector, 1,500 sq. meters in the Scarmagno warehouse, near Turin in North-West Italy. This site will act as a central hub for the whole logistics management of the company's goods. Each year 600,000 items involving 55,000 parcels in 10,000 deliveries will be stored and distributed - involving preparation and shipment - on behalf of the customer. The Scarmagno warehouse is a highly automated logistics platform with computerized control of each operational phase over a total storage area of 36,000 sq. meters. The site is considered a center of excellence for the CEVA Fashion Division.
Maurizio Bortolan, Fashion Division Director at CEVA Logistics commented: "The choice of ALTO, a CEVA partner since 2003, stems mainly from the fact that the two companies have much in common in terms of their focus on excellence, quality and a desire to offer dedicated customer service. We see Mizuno's ongoing trust in CEVA as proof of our expertise in the fashion segment, as well as the potential that the Scarmagno warehouse offers to customers who wish to expand their distribution volumes."
