CEVA Logistics to manage auxiliary packaging for CNH spare parts

Milan, Italy, 22 July 2009 - CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has announced a new three year, €6.3 million deal with Case New Holland (CNH), the world leader in the agricultural and construction equipment businesses. Under the terms of the new contract CEVA will handle the sorting and packaging of the spare parts for the equipment produced by CNH.

The packaging operations will be centralized at the 5,500 square meter logistics platform in Longueil Sainte Marie, north of Paris and close to CNH's European warehouse in Le Plessis. Approximately seven million packages destined for the European market are expected to be assembled either manually or automatically by CEVA, each year. The logistics operator will also purchase and resell any auxiliary materials necessary for the operations performed at CNH's various logistics sites.

CNH is a global company operating in 160 countries and was created in 1999 from the merger of New Holland N.V. and Case Corporation. This enterprise is a majority-owned subsidiary of Fiat S.p.A. -parent company of the Fiat Group. CNH invests heavily in research and development, producing the best and most innovative products for agriculture and construction. The company has 27 cutting-edge Research and Development facilities, where new products are designed, tested and continuously improved.

CNH's goal was to centralize the management of auxiliary materials in its European warehouses by assigning the task to a single supplier. "We at CEVA have acquired considerable expertise in packaging," commented Gianfranco Sgro, President for South Europe, Middle East and Africa at CEVA. "The partnership to provide this service to such a demanding customer shows that CEVA is fully able to devise and manage innovative added value services, while remaining a reliable and competent logistics partner for more traditional activities".
