30 October 2007 - 11:05 CET

CEVA Logistics' innovative solution to provide a smooth transition to the new digital tachographs has been recognised as an example of operational excellence by the UK Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

CEVA won the Information Management Award at the institute's annual award ceremony in London with its solution to capture and automatically analyse tachograph data.

The expert judging panel, praising the company's commitment to continuous improvement, said: "CEVA, through a series of preferred supplier partnerships, has incorporated new devices, imaging techniques and analysis techniques from the internet. This has brought benefits of cost savings in analysis and operational benefits of more effective management of vehicles and drivers.

"The IT solution was implemented to provide a smooth transition to the new digital tachographs by merging the existing analogue and digital world in a single automated analysis and reporting tool. This has allowed CEVA to accurately and reliably record compliance, possible infringement and Working Time Directive information across a mobile workforce."

John Court, IT Director CEVA Logistics, says: "We are delighted to receive this prestigious award. It reflects CEVA's strong determination to continue delivering high quality, innovative technology solutions. We have a tremendous team who continually seek to improve CEVA's business through effective use of technology. This recognition is testament to their ingenuity and professionalism."

CEVA was also a finalist in the Freight Management and Development of People categories.

Neil Crossthwaite, Managing Director of CEVA in the UK, congratulated the CEVA teams. "I am delighted that CEVA has once again enjoyed a high level of success at the CILT awards event. The IT Award demonstrates CEVA's continuing commitment to deliver advanced technology solutions."
