TNT Logistics awarded Best 3PL in Italy 2004

28 April 2004 - 10:40 CET

TNT Logistics announced today that it has been awarded ‘Best 3PL-service provider in Italy' by the Global Institute of Logistics, a global forum for the 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) industry. TNT Logistics was the unanimous choice of the Institute's Awards Committee, following a detailed research and selection process into the 7 leading providers of supply chain and 3PL- services in Italy, also performed by the Global Institute of Logistics.

The Institute's awards are to honour those 3PLs that have helped clients save money and sell more. According to the Global Institute of Logistics, it is on that basis that award winners can be regarded as the best in the business.

The comprehensive study draws for a significant part on a quality ranking system based on responses provided by relevant customers. According to the Institute's findings TNT Logistics' customers speak of a company that is ‘customer focussed, easy to work with and sensitive to clients' needs'. Kieran Ring, CEO of the Global Institute of Logistics, comments: "The quality of feedback that the Institute Researchers received when speaking with TNT Logistics clients in Italy made a compelling case for our decision. Each TNT Logistics client spoke of the spirit of co-operation and integration intrinsic to their relationship with TNT Logistics in Italy."

Responding to today's announcement, Mr. Gianfranco Sgro, TNT Logistics Italy Managing Director, says: "We are honoured to receive the ‘Best 3PL in Region Award'. As TNT Logistics aims to provide operational excellence to increase service levels and visibility and reduce costs, lead times or time to market, this award represents a wide recognition by our customers of the various aspects of TNT Logistics' quality approach."

The review and selection of TNT Logistics as ‘Best 3PL in Italy 2004' is part of the Institute's series of ‘Best 3PL in Region Awards', for which research has been carried out in the Logistics sector in European countries. With the application of the awards, the Institute aims to promote the science of logistics as a discipline that cuts costs, raises sales, creates jobs and generates profits.
