TNT Network Logistics adds Euro Food Brands to its Grocery Portfolio

10 August 2006 - 11:47 CET

Euro Food Brands Ltd has awarded TNT Network Logistics, a subsidiary of TNT Logistics UK, a warehousing and distribution contract.

The Northampton-based Euro Food Brands Ltd manages the distribution of a portfolio of major European food brands, including De Cecco pasta, Illy coffee and Carapelli olive oil, into UK grocery retailers.

TNT Network Logistics operates the largest high-quality, multi-user supply chain in the UK and will add the Euro Food Brands products to the network which already carries products for many other suppliers to the grocery trade, including Twinings, Del Monte, Whitworths and Wrigleys.

The operation will run from TNT Network Logistics depot at Corby, Northamptonshire, one of 19 facilities the company operates throughout the UK, from where orders will be picked in both case and full pallet loads, with some items re-worked and repacked for sale.

"I am delighted that we have won this contract, especially in such a competitive tender process," says David Bermingham, Managing Director, TNT Network Logistics. "Like many other distributors - and supermarket chains - Euro Food Brands has recognised our experience in delivering a high-quality but still cost effective supply chain service to the grocery trade."

Tim Robinson, Finance Director, Euro Food Brands says: "We chose TNT Network Logistics because it has the expertise and the network already in place to deliver products into the supermarket Regional Distribution Centres. We have had a relationship for some time with TNT Network Logistics through their Primary Consolidation Centre at their Wisbech depot and we felt they could offer us the same high quality service for the rest of our business."
