TNT elected Best Company of the Year in Brazil Automotive sector

30 November 2001 - 16:21 CET

TNT Logistics, recognised as one of world's leading provider of logistics services, was elected the best Logistics Company in Brazil for the second year running by the magazine AutoData. TNT Logistics won the award in the Logistics Supplier Group. TNT Logistics also earned the AutoData Tribute - Company of the Year in the Automotive Sector - for obtaining the highest number of points among winners in each category.

AutoData is one of the most prestigious specialised magazines in the automotive sector, with an emphasis on economy and business. The award is divided into 13 categories, and 12 AutoData Group journalists indicate and choose four cases in each one of them. "Company cases that contributed most to the development of the automotive sector are chosen," said AutoData's director and editor, S. Stefani. The choice of winners, however, is made by readers and participants of the Seminário Perspectivas 2001 (Seminar Perspectives 2001), which took place in October. The best companies are graded from one to four. "It is not AutoData, but rather, the automotive sector itself that recognises TNT as a great company," said Stefani.

TNT's performance impressed the event organisers. "At least 60% of TNT's scores were full marks, which is unusual," said Stefani. TNT Logistics surpassed some of the largest and best-structured companies in its segment, being awarded by the most prestigious national magazines. During the first semester this year, TNT Logistics was elected the best Transport Company in Brazil by Exame magazine.

For TNT South America Director, Gianfranco Sgro, the awards are recognition of the work developed by TNT in the automotive sector over more than four years, as well as its focus on service quality and its ability to innovate novel and flexible solutions.
